How to Use Neem Oil (General Guidelines):
1. Read the Label Carefully: Always follow the specific mixing and application instructions provided on the A.A Garden Enterprises Neem Oil product label. Concentrations can vary.
2. Prepare the Solution:
o Neem oil is typically concentrated and needs to be diluted with water.
o Since oil and water don’t mix naturally, you’ll need an emulsifier (like a small amount of mild liquid soap, insecticidal soap, or horticultural soap).
o Mix the recommended amount of Neem Oil with the emulsifier in a small amount of warm water first to create a milky solution.
o Then, add this mixture to the remaining required volume of water in your sprayer.
o Shake well to ensure thorough mixing.
3. Application Timing:
o Apply in the early morning or late evening to avoid direct sunlight, which can cause leaf burn.
o Avoid applying when temperatures are above 30?C (85?F).
o Do not apply when rain is expected within 24 hours, as it can wash off the spray.
4. Application Method:
o Use a fine mist sprayer to thoroughly coat all surfaces of the plants, including the undersides of leaves where many pests hide.
o Ensure complete coverage for best results.
o For existing infestations, apply every 5-7 days. For preventative measures, apply every 10-14 days.
5. Test Spray: Always test the diluted Neem Oil solution on a small, inconspicuous part of the plant first, especially if you have sensitive plants, and wait 24-48 hours to check for any adverse reactions before spraying the entire plant.
6. Storage: Store the concentrate in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight. Do not store mixed solutions, as they lose effectiveness quickly.
