Flowers Seeds
5 Packet Pack.
Larkspur flowers, also known as delphiniums, are tall, elegant annuals or perennials prized for their colorful spikes of blossoms and ease of care. For planting, sow Larkspur seeds directly in the garden in early spring or early autumn for blooms in late spring or early summer; alternatively, start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost. Choose a sunny spot with well-drained soil, as Larkspurs prefer full sun but can tolerate partial shade, especially in hotter climates. Prepare the soil by loosening it to a depth of 6 to 8 inches and removing any weeds or debris to ensure fertile, moist soil with good drainage. Scatter Larkspur seeds over the prepared soil surface and lightly press them into the soil, covering lightly with soil or compost. Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged until the seeds germinate, then water deeply but infrequently, allowing the soil to dry out slightly between watering’s. Apply a balanced fertilizer once a month during the growing season to promote healthy growth and prolific flowering. Mulch around the plants to conserve moisture, suppress weeds, and regulate soil temperature. As the plants grow, provide support such as stakes or a trellis to prevent them from flopping over, and remove spent flowers regularly to prolong the blooming period and encourage new growth. In colder regions, Larkspurs may not survive the winter, so consider replanting seeds in spring for continued blooms or protecting perennial varieties with a layer of mulch.
